Defining my issue

My issue is about women not being allowed to serve in combat positions because of their gender.

In 1917-1918 during the last two years of world war 1 women were allowed to enter the military but they could only serve as nurses and cooks. As the years went by women would disguise themselves as men so they could be able to fight in battle, also back then women would fight in battle but so many of them had gotten killed people decided that battle was not meant for women and so in 1994 the military had made a policy stating that women will no longer be able to fight in war.

Explain the proponents viewpoint

The proponents viewpoint is the Service Women's Action it is a group of women who served in the military and they disagree with the fact that women are not allowed to serve in combat positions they feel that women should have the same opportunities as men.

Explain the viewpoint of those opposed

The military services disagrees with the women serving in battle because they think that women are not strong enough to lift heavy equipment like guns and so on. Military services also feel that women will be an distraction pregnancies will be happening and they also feel that women are more emotional and scared than men.

Explain the republican's general view of my issue

Republican's disagree with the fact that women is banned from fighting in combat because they said that they believe that women should be able to do the same things as men.

Explain the Democrats general view of my issue

The Democrats does not support the fact that women are banned from fighting in battle because they feel that women should not be banned because of their gender.

Summarize two current and provide links

The US Secretary of Defense is now deciding that all combat positions will be open for women. Women will be able to do the same things as men such as armor reconnaissance and some special operations meaning as long as they show they can do the same things as men they will be able to fight in war.

Currently since women found out about them being able to have the chance to fight in battle it encouraged them to go get trained so that they can be able to fight in battle because they are happy that they are finally going to be able to do the things that they love to do.http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/20/us/women-in-combat-globally/
